Turn a Classic into a classic

Went to a gathering in Gettysburg in July and spent almost 2 weeks between that weekend and visiting a friend up in Northern PA who lives right on Hwy 6 about 50 miles west of Scranton. That's where I'm moving to.

My 76 y/o father was born, and grew up, in York, PA (now in Massachussets since the 50's).

He keeps wanting to have a "family trip" meeting in York (we are spread out in three states). Maybe we can make it happen and do a Harley plant tour as well seeing that two of the three siblings ride Harleys.

jmcollison: thanks for sharing pics of your epic month long ride

A couple of weeks ago, there was a great sunset and the bike was clean for once so I got some updated pics of my bike. All the planned mods are done and I'm pleased with the "classic" results - hope you guys enjoy as well.

Thanks Sol! I enjoy sharing. Once, back in 1997 my boss was on me to get a Harley. He rode, his in-laws rode and he just kept at me, "John, you need to get a Harley". Of course I didn't understand then. I didn't grow up around bikes and had NO vision of owning one.

Now, 12 years later, It is important to me to share the passion I have. Maybe I'll catch a forum member here that owns a bike but doesn't get out on it that often, or isn't sure about taking it on a long trip. JUST DO IT! It is liberating and invigorating!

Sol, your bike looks great! The black lowers on the front end help set off and carry the paint theme!

RIDE PEOPLE! It makes me sick to see bikes for sale that are 4-5 years old with 2,000 miles on them!

Well, I'm outta of here for processing in Houston for work in Iraq.

So, bike is put away until I'm home again. Work will continue later!

See ya'll soon enough.

Sol, bike looks great!

Some great looking scoots in this thread. Giving me all kinds of ideas about how to spend my hard earned money.

Figured I'd throw my '07 RKC into the mix. I tried to give it a bit of a nostalgic look with the apes and fishtails.

The sayin "chrome won't get ya home" might be true but a black and chrome ride has always worked for me. Thats what I went with here, running a 2008 FLSTSB Crossbones air filter (the black thing) along with Rinehart exaust with black tips....
