I posted a video on youtube so people who where thinking about V&H Pipes could hear what it sounds like.

I can't say mine is totally old school classic look but the beefy beach bars are FAT, I like Big Sucker Air Cleaner, the C&C seat is killer low profile and still room for a bitch with a small ass, and I love the sound of the pipes. I think the pipes took away the look of the old school classic look but I don't give a hoot...I like it.

Those sound great and the look of the long shots makes me think about doing something similar.
I don't think you've ruined your "classic" look at all.

Thought I would post a couple of my 08....not as nice as some here but I like it. Love the Purple Haze on this model....looks old school hot rod to me.
 
I'v been adding a little at a time to get the classic look. My tank is an off white. My issue is that when I put on the wide white wheels they are to white. Any one have any idea on how to dull them up.
