its me

i have decided to put a turbo on my 2004 honda s2000 and i think i am going to go this a gt35r turbo and all the other needed equipment plz help me on what i will need to make this work and if i should just buy a kit

First of all, a brand new turbo will cost big money. Second, forced induction almost always reduces the life of the engine. Third, you might need to upgrade the internals depending on how much power the stock engine can handle - you should research this before you put in a turbo.

The s2000 is not the most boost-friendly motor. It has incredibly high compression (11.5:1.) The ideal compression ratio for a forced induction car is 8:1....so think twice before you boost your s2k.

Now, that said, there are some really nice boosted s2ks. You need to get a shop involved unless you know a ton about cars. You need to buy a quality kit...$3-4k. Do not buy an ebay turbo kit.

The biggest thing is tuning. If you don't get it tuned just right, you will blow it up in a heartbeat. Look for the best tuner within a couple hundred miles, it's worth it.

Last, you need to start reading the forums. hondatech is a big one. s2k forums will all have a forced induction section. Read as much as you can before you ask a question. I posted a link to one of the best resources for learning about turbo applications. Read all of the tech articles.

Hope this helps...

Well you can just buy a kit, and yea thats cool but eventually if u crank up the boost too much you'll blow the engine, if i were u id invest in some turbo pistons and fix up the internals, do that and you'll have more compression, more compression = more power, don't do it the wrong way do it the right way, hope i helped
