Tuning a Honda Civic LX Sedan?

I'm looking at at 2001 Honda Civic LX Sedan with automatic transmission to purchase. Is this a good car, by civic standards? And to tune it up engine wise, how much would this cost? It already has these: 8" Konig Alloy Wheels, New 1" Eiboch Drop, New KYB Shocks/Struts AEM Cold Air Intake, Custom Exhaust. How much would it cost to make this car's performance better and is this a good car to buy (as in are there any other civic models that are better)?

Any help is greatly appreciated!
