Tungsten T3 Batter & New Install Disk

I just purchased a T3 for my son to take back to school. I bought it from Overstock and am having all kinds of problems. I have a Garmin IQUE so not totally new at this.

1. Battery does not seem to hold. I have tried the reset in cradle and tried the hard reset and then shortly after turnig it off I can not get it to go back on. HELP

2. Is there a way to get a new CD install disk. I cracked the damn thing somewhere along the way. I've got it loaded on my PC but son must take it back to school and load it.

You can always download the Palm Desktop software from here for the T3. It won't install the USB drivers but if your son has a late enough version of WinXP it will probably recognize it anyway. I'd suggest installing the Palm Desktop and then connect the USB cradle and attempt your first hotsync. It should prompt you for the user name and then hopefully WinXP will recognize the driver or install it.

The other option is to contact Palm customer support and they will usually send out a replacement install disk..probably just charge you for shipping.

The battery holding issue? Did you charge it for the recommended 3 hours prior to first usage? If not it sounds like it may be a problem because there is no known reason for it to turn off in such a fashion assuming there is no errant programs that have been installed.

You also need to download the T3 updater and run it to the device that is also located at the link above. Check for any other software updates that are not resident on this overstock.com unit.

Thanks for the help. I did follow the instructions for charging both with reset and hard reset. It appears I have a battery problem.

Thanks for the info on the disk.

I am going to send it off and hope for the best.
