Tungsten T, Press On Edge of Slider, Digitizer Quits

On my original tungsten T, when i press on the right hand side of the slider panel (just to the right of the note button), the touch screen won't respond. Let go and everything is fine again.

Mainly this is a problem because the case for my palm (a proporta aluminum one), presses on the slider panel to hold the T in the case.

Anyone heard of this problem before?

This is another reason why I tired of the slider. More things to go wrong.

I just tried squeezing my old T and could get it to react the same way as you described. I also have seen issues with getting a screen protector on wrong in the upper right hand corner and it would throw the digitizer way off.

Another reason to go to the E?

I've had a T|T and now a T3 and had problems with the digitizer on the T|T. There was a thread here about "disassembling" the T|T and re-seating the connector from the bottom slide to the main system. I took the plunge (with a little mechanical skill it's not that hard to do), and voila - no more digitizer problems! I used to have to reset the digitizer every other day, it's now been about 2 months and no need to recalibrate. This may just be the trick. Could be a bad initial connection.

This may also be related to pressure on the side of the slider. It could just "warp" the connection enough to lose one important contact. If the unit is out of warranty, I just may try the "FIX". Your mileage may vary...
