TT3 leather case

I know we have already talked about this but I can't find it.

I'm looking for a nice, solid, leather case for my TT3. I want a nice one but I don't want it to break the bank? Any Ideas? Also it would be good if it had a belt clip doesn't have to be a swivel clip (might be better if it's not, i broke my last one.

CH! Think I've got it - literally.

2 years ago I went into Franklin Covey and bought a leather black sturdy case for the M505.

The T3 slips in it perfectly.

Best of all it's got a VERY tough velcro fastening top, and not ONLY a belt clip but a belt LOOP stitched into the leather -- use both and you'll never lose it on the car seat (as a friend of mine did 2 months ago - fell out into the street and he lost it).

They're around $40 if they still have them -- get the one for the 505 or Zire and you'll be fine (test the fit first). Havent' seen one as good and 2 months ago when I was thinking of a T5 I was actually going to cut/extend the flap with a piece of black leather and KEEP USING IT. It's that good.
 
I can recommend this, I've had it a year or so - it add's quite a bit of bulk to the t3, but it accomodates the slider well, and carries a couple of SD card (inc my Wi-fi card) and credit cards as well...

The Vaja is the king IF you don't wear it. My Vaja sits in a drawer
cuz its clip causes it to extend too far out from my waist. My preference for a belt clip is the NUTSHELL, a New Zealand Company. The best quality you can get, and the belt clip is imbedded so well that it really hugs your waist. About $65.00
delivered, which was about a $55.00 cheaper than my Vaja.

I agree with Carmine Castiglia regarding the Sena cases. I just got my case today. The packaging was wonderful. It basically comes in a gift box and pouch, and the case itself is a thing of beauty, even better looking than I had hoped for (I'll definitely be looking for excuses to flash this case around). Not only does it look gorgeous, but it fits my wifi card as well as my extra SD card, and it hotsyncs in the cradle easily, which took care of my main concerns. I bought it to replace a more expensive metal book-cover type hard case which had turned out to be a hassle to use and which couldn't store my wifi card, not to mention that it doesn't look even remotely as nice as the Sena case. Before my T3, I had a Clie (remember those ;-) with a Vaja case. I wound up giving that to my daughter and boy it hurt to lose such a nice case. None of the current Vaja T3 cases fit a wifi card so I went looking for something similar that would. The Sena case I received is just as beautifully designed (I got the blue/black one) and it was only half the price. And I now realize why I have never warmed up to my T3 as much as my old Clie; it was the case! First of all, its much comfortable to use than the side-opening case. And secondly, it really turns the T3 into a work of art, and I guess that's what was missing with the metal case. The T3 always seemed klunky in the metal case, now its slim and elegant like it should be. I should also mention that I had a shipping problem with the USPS because of the holiday rush, and Sena replied to my emails quickly and sorted it out at their own expense, so that says good things about them as well.
 
Talking about leather (and other) cases, there's one thing that bothers me.. I've got both a hardcase and a leather case, and I'm using the leather case most of the time (the main reason for finally buying a PDA was that the T3 is short enough to be under my personal "size pain threshold" while still having a big enough screen. The leather case fits snugly in my shirt pocket).

However, the hardcase and the leathercase both have room for only 2 SD cards.. I've already got 2 SD cards, _plus_ the wi-fi card. And I'll need another SD card Real Soon. Possibly two. There's no room! The Palm hardcase has only got those two slots, the leather case is full of extra rooms for credit cards and whatnot.. well, I already _have_ room for those elsewhere, after all I owned credit- and business cards years before PDAs were invented :-)
It's really inconvenient to stuff expansion cards into those deep credit card pockets. From what I've seen most, if not all, Palm/T3 cases are like this (room for 2 SD cards only).
I just wish the case vendors would stop thinking '2 ought to be enough for anyone'.

I had the same problem of trying to get SD card cases out of the long credit card slots of my leather case. I was pleased to see that the Popcaps Puzzle Pack SD game card I purchased recently came with a long, skinny case that stores up to 6 SD cards. It even has a loop at the top to help pull it out of the slot. The Atati Retro set came with the same case.
Problem solved for me.
 
I feel, I have to protest the recommandation of the FranklinCovey case. It is true, that it looks good and fits the unit well; but the quality is not good enough and it will begin to fall apart after about one year of use, and in my opinion, that is not enough?
My personal pereferense will be the cases fraom Krusell, which are not too expensive and of excellent quality. My second preferense is Proporta. Both brands come with belt clips and loops.

About the sena case mentioned earlier in the thread, I had a look at the review and it looks quite nice. The flip-top makes it easy to use the T3 slide, unlike for example the leather case I own. But aren't the SD card slots the wrong way around? I mean, when using the case you would flip it over, and suddenly the SD slots are upside down, no? I've seen other flip type cases which have the slots the other way around, so that they don't accidentally fall out when you wrap back the flip.
 
If you just want a leather case (pocket type) that protects the TT3 well and clips to your belt, I would recommend looking no further than PalmOne itself -- get the Palm Leather Belt Case for the Palm V series. Personally, for my TT2, I use the T/T2 "Scuba" case by Palm, but it doesn't have a clip. However, when I want a case with a clip, I just use the Palm V case. It has a semi-hard front and back, the sides are soft leather, and it has a velcro flap close on top. The belt clip is metal and it is attached well to the case by some sort of metal plate that is supposed to protect the screen as well.

You can get it on eBay or Amazon for practically nothing (like $3 or $4 -- you'll pay more for shipping). I bought mine on eBay for my M500, and used it with my TT2 until I found the "Scuba" case which I like better.

Good luck! Finding a case for your Palm is like finding a case for your camera -- preferences, preferences, preferences.....

As for the rest of the replies lamenting about SD card slots, I can agree somewhat. However, it does prompt the response of, "Geesh, folks, how many SD cards do you need for one Palm?" My TT2 is only 32mb onboard, and I have one SD card that I use for MP3, MMPlayer movies, data backup, and even about a dozen favorite family photos! It's a 512mb card, and I have a couple of CD's worth of music files, one two-hour movie, a couple of Disney movies, about 1/2 dozen SpongeBob episodes, etc. I guess if you're buying dedicated game cards, a Wifi card, a Bluetooth card, etc., that could pose a problem, but if you already have one card in your Palm slot, that leaves the two slots in the case for other cards...that's three. I've owned notebook computers that have less storage on them that that, and less external hardware!

I think it's funny that we all buy Palms because they're small, useful, etc., and then what do we do? Buy a bunch of extra cards, clip-on modems, GPS devices, charge/sync cables, etc. I think we'd be better off just buying the smallest Dell notebook (which usually includes a custom case!). Please don't read this wrong -- I'm as guilty as anyone else in this, but not with regard to SD cards.
 
As for having more than 2 SD cards.. TomTom navigator maps. Even my newest 512MB card can hold only a fraction of the maps I need.

In addition to that, I want to have all my emails _ever_ and all my source code from more than 25 years in software development available, in a form I can use. I have a plan, but I need more cards. I want the Palm to finally make my wheels go around even when away from my computer.
 
Hmm...I did forget to mention that I also use my one card for all the Mapopolis Navigator maps that I need, too (which is a lot). I guess that either Tom Tom maps are much bigger or you are keeping entire countries with you.

I think you are definitely the type of person who is absolutely maximizing the capabilities of your Palm. Which don't get me wrong -- that's great! I thought I was one of those, but I guess not as much as I once thought! :)

Anyway, I think you'll probably never find the case you want/need because your requirements are WAY above average, which is the specs that the cases (and the Palms for that matter) are built to.

I would advise just buying a small media wallet that will allow you store a dozen or so SD cards, carry it as a wallet or attach it to your existing Palm case somehow. Just a thought.

Good luck in your search. When you have specific or above average requirements, finding a case for your electronics can be a difficult, never-ending process!
