tsunami-will u fill me in on what happened and whats being done?

sorry but i have missed this story,only heard bits and pieces n dont understand? it was like a hurricane and killed thousands and they wont allow anyone offering help?im sure im missing alot but i dont watch the news

it wasnt a tsunami, it was a large and powerful typhoon that battered the eastern asia country. They dont want us to help because they know how "amazing" our job after Hurricane Katrina was.
