I joined the army at 17 and was given a TS/SCI clearance in 05' (18 yrs old). I grew up in a rough nieghborhood and was pretty involved with some immoral acts...for example...broke into 2 houses, broke into a car, sold marijuana twice, and did quite a few drugs (cocaine, ecstasy, marijuana, prescription pills, mushrooms) all of which was about 2 times each except for marijuana. All of this was done before 15 years old (23 now) I have a daughter, wife and I'm currently in the army until 2012 (26 yrs old)...at which time I plan to get out and get a contracting job in the same field as my military one. I was not completely truthfull on my initial investigation and I have lived by the book ever since I was 16 (I moved to a better environment, had a child and matured). I completely regret every immoral and illegal action I commited at that age which I will NEVER commit again and I'm afraid it will affect my chances of getting a job that requires a lifestyle polygraph which asks of these crimes (not on my original clearance application...another mistake...army recruiter told me not to mention my past crimes) I'm not sure what to do...would they disregard these things since they were done at 15 which will be almost 12 years prior come that time? If I cannot get a job in my current field (system engineer/network engineer...$100,000+ salary) than I want to be a hs teacher in FL (average $42,000 salary)...really want to continue my current career choice instead of starting over at 26 and getting less than half of the better salary. any info is greatly appreciated...thanks
