Trying to use Media Center to connect to my PC through 360.?

I went to xbox.com/pcsetup, the recommend site for connecting my PC's media center to my xbox 360. I followed the steps but I am stuck on nearly the last one. When I am in Windows Media Player and after I clicked

Library> Media Sharing

And checked the "Share my media" box. As the site above explains, Xbox 360 should come up on the list and I'm supposed to check it to allow sharing with it. However, the 360 does not show up on the list (nothing does).

Why is this and how can I fix this? (I am using Windows XP with Service Pack 3)
@Jalpha

Yes I do have Norton, so first I tried disabling that for an hour, tried WM, didn't show up. Then I tried what you said, and still didn't show up.

try this...(This works with Vista but may be the same for XP)

click the windows start button (bottom left corner)
click run
type "services.msc" (no quotes)
a window will pop up called services, scroll down until you find
SSDP Discovery.
right click SSDP Discovery then click properties
change startup type to automatic & save.
now try windows media player, click the little arrow under library
go to media sharing then share media
you should see a little Xbox360,tick it then apply.
that's how I got mine working but if you still have trouble then your firewall may be blocking media sharing.
If your using Norton then allow SSDP networking.

hope that helps.
