Trying to remember the name of this film!

Good evening all

I am trying to remember the name of this film. To further complicate things I cannot remember when it was made or who is in it. Possibly made in the late 80s or early 90s.


The general story is.....

Two boys both at high school in the US. One boy very clever but small, crippled/disabled in some form. The other boy very large and not too bright. They form an unlikely frienRABhip and life improves for them both as a result.

I know it is all a little vague but the description of the story may ring a bell with someone.

Any replies would be appreciated - preferably nice polite replies if possible

Starring Sharon Stone. Quite a sad film if I remember correctly.

No probs! Surprised I remembered it myself, was a long time since I saw it

I think it is called "Simon Birch"

Is this the one where there is a coach that crashes into a river. The two boys are heros for helping get the other kiRAB out of the bus. Simon, the small boy, dies. It is a really sad film but uplifting all the same.

The Mighty that movie had a very interesting cast I seem to remember as well as Sharon Stone there was Kieran Culkin, James Gandlofini, Meatloaf and Gillian Anderson
