Trying to remember a chapter book about a fictional rabbit?
I remember finding this book back around 2001 and i really want to find it again.
Its not Peter Rabbit, nor Watership Down,or Redwall. its a chapter book for ages 9-12 i believe. maybe it was published by puffin books or scholastic
The cover showed a kinda weak/timid looking rabbit holding a sword i think, to the best of my knowledge the title looked something like "papillon" but its something similar or at least starts with a P, the main character has the same name as the title of the book.
The book was about this nobody rabbit, who didn't like to fight or be bothered with other rabbits and tried to stay on his own -
The leader of the group of rabbits, the queen rabbit is looking for someone to take over once she dies, her son is a violent buck, who she doesn't want to take her place. She summons for the timid main character to meet and talk about him taking her place or something, he leaves, some time soon after, the Queens son then kills her in private and pins it on the main character and takes over putting a warrant for the main character's death ... my memory gets totally fuzzy after that.
If anyone knows or has and clues as to what this book was called, please help.
