I am looking for a movie that I saw a trailer for. It involved a "Duel" or "Battle" between two people, and was portraying a time when this was the way disputes were resolved. I remember guys wearing wigs, so I think it was set in the 17th or 18th century, but I'm pretty sure I saw the trailer within the last 10 years.

It is not the movie "Ridicule" which is french and is more about the court. It is also not "The Duellists" which is about two officers dueling. It seemed to have decent camera and lighting and looked more modern.

I really can't find the name of what this movie is, so any help is appreciated. From what I recall it was some two word title like "the duel" or "the battle" but that's not finding the movie. It had a crowd of people (30-40) standing around two people arguing their cases, and was basically all about the practice of debating your cause in settings like this.
Thanks for the reply, but I believe it was older than the great debaters. If I had to pin it down I'd say somewhere between 99-2004 is when I saw the trailer, but I'm not sure if I'm right. The main things I remember is that it was set in some kind of court with people standing around, and it focused on two people arguing their case in that setting, and trying to "win" their argument.

The Great Debaters?
I haven't seen it but it was made recently (2007) and it might be what you;re talking about. I think Denzel Washington was in it, but I'm not sure.
