Trying to heat and light an uninsulated garage March party?

I am giving my son an 18th birthday party March 12 in an uninsulated, 2-car garage where electricity is not working. Because it is technically still winter, concerned about if it'll be warm enough for 25 teenagers to hang out. Live in Detroit, MI weather forecasting average 50 degrees (highs) and lows of 20 degrees. garage approxiamately 500sq. ft., should I get a larger utility heater or will one or two smaller space heaters provide enough warmth. Secondly, electricity main line has been cut and not repairable until ground completely dries and is dry. Unfortuantely, party won't wait, thinking of string lights (with utility extension cord from house to garage and surge protector) and battery operated led lights for lighting. Battery operated boom box w/cd and mp3. Wondering how many string lights would be necessary for a nightclub scene and any other suggestions besides candles around a bunch of teens? Main problems heat and lights. Please help, all answers welcomed. String lights sound like a good idea, but how many sets and how many can safely be used with utility extension and surge protector?
