Trying to get in Animation...one question

I've been animating recently however I don't have the convenience of having a camera stand so that I can take the same distance pictures of my drawings.

Does anyone know where to buy those stands online and what they are called?

Suggestion-you might want to take up learning how to make Flash animations-those are popular and a lot of places are looking for Flash animators.

As much as I hate Flash, it is good to learn it, as like Mavericker said, alot of places use it. The cameras we used at school are called Digicel notebooks I believe. Digicel is the important name to remember. However those are expensive, like a couple grand.

Only one problem for me: I can't draw to save my life on the computer. Is there anyway I could scan my pictures onto it, and make it do the in-betweens for me?

well, Digicel just takes the pictures of your drawings, so no need to worry about drawing on the computer. You can also use it to decide how many frames you want in between drawings. The in-betweens you'll have to draw on your own.

I already do Flash. I just want to get my chances on hand-drawn. It is my dream to be an animator and a series creator for my own animation series, but that's just a dream and always will be (or will it?). Anyway this is just for a hobby as of now. But I know that Flash is (sadly) taking over the 2D animation world. I know it sounds time consuming but with technique I animate with it won't be as crazy as most think (but then again I've never done this before).

Yeah that's what I use.

For Flash, you will have to draw on the comp. But it lends itself to really simple designs, so you don't need to be really great at drawing on a computer. Do you use a Wacom tablet? It takes practice, but eventually you will be able to draw like as if it was on paper.

Animate with what you want kid, don't give in to what the other companies want, they're technoligcly spoiled if they want you to use flash or Moho. To me Flash isn't bad but at times character movement can look more puppet like to me and less natural plus I actually found it easier to draw\animate the traditional way, you might have better luck though as I can't quite grasp most of the programs that they use now. Now if you want a tripod maybe you'll find one at a pawn shop or antique store. As for scanning pictures in a scanner may help or you could take a picture with a digital camera. Good luck getting your answers though and please don't give in to whats popular, our times right now are calling for an innovators, not followers.

Well if you mean how it's different from using a pencil on paper, it's quite a bit different at first. It feels kind of awkward, because you're not looking at you tablet pen, but at the screen. It feels..looser, for a lack of a better term. But eventually you get used to it.

Having a Wacom tablet is a bit hard to get used to but it's great when you do!
I'd say don't buy anything other than wacom though!...i know it's expensive but it's the only one that works.
I've had 2 graphics tablets before getting a wacom- one of them kept diconnecting every 2 mins for no reason and freezing my computer and the other one didn't work with photoshop!!!!) plus the pen on all the ones i've seen needs an extra battery (unlike wacom) which makes it very heavy and tyring for your wrist.
I've never heared of anyone ever saying any good things about graphics tablets other than wacom.
sorry to be so negatine but unfortunately i've wasted enough money on that kind of stuff to know better!
