When I was a teen I played this 2D game on Win 95 where you can choose from a bunch of different fish (or shrimp) and you'd swim around a coral reef eating other fish and avoiding bigger fish. The graphics were close 2D drawings of how the fishes really look in real life -- they're not the cartoony kind.
It was really educational because it'd tell you the names of the fish (I can remember napoleon wrasse, parrotfish, cleaner shrimp, mimic cleaner, squirrelfish, goatfish etc) as well as what they ate. And the graphics were 2D but pretty accurate. You could be a mimic cleaner fish and go round taking bites out of all the fish because they wouldn't eat you. You could even be a shrimp and just eat plankton!
I'm feeling a little nostalgic and wondering if anyone has played this game, remembers its name or knows where to find it. Thanks!!
