trying to connect my phone and computer with bluetooth but it's asking for a passcode?

i want to use bluetooth to send photos from my phone to my laptop but it's asking for a passcode and i don't have one. there's nothing in the phone manual about it and i tried just entering the same code into both the phone and the lap top but that doesn't work either. also, my phone will only let me enter one letter, not numbers or more than one or anything
does anyone know what i do to send the photos across?
