True or False: Rugby is merely a homoerotic display of hyper-masculinity?

A bunch of men rolling around on top of each other, pulling down one another's shorts...

Does anyone else see this?
@Andrew,
No! I love rugby. I love the passion and the patriotism of the game. I love the idea of a sport uniting a nation and even the whole world. I also use rugby as an outlet for expressing my intense dislike of Australians. ;)

I was simply asking the question because I read an article, written by the NZ historian Jock Phillips, which made the argument that in colonial NZ, men played rugby in order to express their sexuality in the absence of women. You know, because there was an unbalanced ratio of women to men in the colonial days. I took the words of Jock Phillips with a grain of salt, but I can kind of see what he meant and I was wondering if anybody has ever received that same impression. Just saying.
