Trouble with Yamaha Breeze ATV?

I am having trouble with my little Yamaha breeze it is old about 10 years but was running great a year ago. It is only running for 5 minutes then you have to give it a break. It also only goes about 5mph when it is supposed to go 45mph my uncle thinks it is the carb but i don't know. Any Help? Thanks
