trouble starting the car (problem?)?

i just got my car and went on a road trip for about 4 hours id say up too see my parents. and my car has been fine starting all day but then when i got back home to my apartment and went to start my car it took a little while to turn over and sometimes it would start real quick and then shut off and wasnt sure what the problem could be if any one could help
