Engine will not start and shows code P0381 which is a glow plug/heater indicator circuit according to my Childton's guide. I had an answer the other day telling me it was the Crankshaft position senser (CKP). The description in the guide says that a problem with the CKP would be indicated by a diagnostic trouble code which my check engine light did go on the week before my engine finally died. When I went to Napa Auto parts I was told that the camshaft position senser (CMP) does go out quite a bit with this year and is consistent with the mileage. Also a bad CMP would evidently keep the engine from starting. Why is this other code, P0381, coming up which is also described as a generic code? And what senser would more than likely be the one to replace, crankshaft or camshaft? Anyone.....
