trouble finding a girlfriend and i feel demotivated?

This is really starting to bother me. It seems complicated and I'm out of ideas. I have been single for about 6 months now and I can't seem to make a connection with any single girls. I am a social person and a decent looking guy (but not good enough looking to rely on it to attract women). I have 3 different female friends who I am very close to... and I am pretty sure I could hook up with them if I tried, but they have boyfriends and have since I met them. I don't want to steal them away because that's how I got my last girlfriend, and although we dated for 2 years I always felt guilty about it. I can't seem to make the same kind of connections with single women. As I was typing this I wonder if I'm just acting differently around them. Like maybe I try harder and they pick up on it? I need some advice... it feels like I'm not even getting opportunities.
