solenoids, but car shifts fine. WTF? My friend took her car to Ford dealer with "Check engine light" and drive-ability problems, NOT trans. related. They replaced the computer. $1200.
Shortly after, a "check engine" light came on and my mini-scanner showed Transmission and starter solenoid codes. The car starts and shifts fine, yet the Ford Dealer told her she needs a new transmission. And charged $126 for what I am sure is misinformation.
Could they be right? I'm sure it is a false code. yet when I erase, the codes come back.
Then the car broke down. I replaced Fuel pump for $500 at independant garage.
And took car back to Ford Dealer, who refunded $126, retested, and said it is an unrelated electrical harness problem and it would cost $250-$400 to fix.
I'm posting now and will be back in a minute with the codes.
Here are the codes PO 740, PO 743, PO750, PO 753, PO 755, PO 758, PO760.
That's 7 codes from Ford dealer. Some are active, some from memory.
My mini-scanner showed 4 codes. 3 shift solonoids and a starter solonoid.
