I have a 2yr old great dane (well, she's almost 2) and I'm having a hard time picking which tricks to teach her.
She already knows the basics: Sit, Stay, Down
She knows 2 actual "tricks" which is "Wave" (she puts 1 paw in the air, high up and moves it up/down 3 times) and Speak. We didn't want to teach her Shake or High-five because we don't ever want her to think its OK to paw someone (she has BIG feet). The difference between "shake" and "wave" is that there is no actual touching involved.
She can't roll-over very well, because her legs are so long.. and if you've ever had a great dane.. you know how big of a hazard rolling over can be lol. Those legs go everywhere! haha.
Begging and sit pretty won't work either, because she is so big and heavy that its hard for her to keep her balance and she'll fall backwards (we've tried). We don't want to teach her stand either - because we're worried she might learn to jump on people (we had this problem when we taught our APBT to "dance")
So does anyone else have any cute ideas for tricks? Or better yet.. does anyone have a great dane? What tricks did you teach them?
