I have a Trek Equinox 7 2008 Black Triathlon Bike:
I will not be running triathlons any more, but I still love to ride. Want to get into a nice Road bike My question is should I try to trade it in for a road bike, sell the bike, or convert the bike into a road bike ???

The bike was worth 2,000 when first bought. its 1 year old. its in great shape never really got to ride it much due to a broken shoulder.

To convert the bike I would only need the brake/shifter levers but they are expensive around $300. dollars or more. any advice were to buy nice levers for less let me know.

I would hate to sell the bike I love the frame its nice light weight. If I try to sell the bike I know I will not get what I want for it. Trying to trade it in, again I wont get what I want.

Money is a tight due to the economy im having some personal hardships.

any ideas please let me know.

Thanks:

I think you should try to trade it to an individual that has a road bike and wants to compete in triathlons.

As you already know the geometry of that bike is different than a road bike. You can convert it, but would you still like it as a road bike?

i would just swapout brk/shft levers. keep riding. you'll lose more than chg of levers would cost.
