trends and fashions in YOUR breed?

People that have been around the dog world for many years must have noticed many changes over time - popularity, colours, styles. By this I mean certain colours becoming more desirable, breed traits being lost or over emphasised, dog breeds getting bigger or smaller etc.

What trends have you noticed happening with your breed(s) in and out of the ring?

Colour seems to have become very important in the stafford world with blue and/or pied pups going for ridiculous prices. Some really ugly dogs in pretty colours seem to be doing really well!!
moof - you haven't noticed that mastiffs' heads seem to be getting broader over time??

I've noticed some standard schnauzers winning that are light in bone and a bit "mini-esque". While pretty, I believe the standard emphasizes "robust" ie: good bone and size. There are judges who put up the smaller, lighter dogs and judges who put up the ones I feel are more proper, and judges who put up handlers! It's a dog show.
:-)

Years ago it was short fronts in newfies, but that's gone away. I see lots of nice newfies with good leg on them. Would still like to see better rear drive in many, but that's not fashion, that's just sometimes hard to get.

I've heard that the sedge chessies are way more popular on the west coast, and not so popular on the east coast. Also more coat in chessies is common on the east coast, but not the west coast.
