...of his efforts? was he successful? Unsuccessful? Please explain.

The treaty did not solve much in the long run. In fact, it can be argued that the treaty, along with actions by the victors of WW1, was a part of the cause of WW2. The winning powers did not do anything to stabilize Germany, so its people became desperate for a leader(turned out to be Hitler) to bring them back.
