My four rats are showing signs of respiratory illness and one of them is starting to make occasional quacking noises and it's scaring me to death especially because that rat had pneumonia once before. I plan on treating them myself but I'm not sure if I should try amoxicillin first or assume it's myco and get doxycycline. If it helps to know their only symptoms have been chattering noises when breathing (although not all the time), they haven't been sneezing much and there isn't any porphyrin. Please don't respond if you're just going to tell me I'm a horrible person for not taking them to the vet, if it was even remotely possible it would've already happened!
