Just thought I'd share my experience of acne-prone skin and try and advise people out there on the benefits of spirulina as a dietary supplement for healthy skin.

I've had acne prone skin since a teenager and I'm now 36. I've also thought I had a good diet but I've never managed to pinpoint the cause of my acne, I don't think many people have or can. You just hope that at some point in time you'll grow out of it. I've tried everything, homeopathy, (which did help a bit), various facials, chemical peels, skincare products, change of diet, you name it, I've probably tried it at some point over the years.

So is it meat, is it cheese/diary? Who knows, and do I really want to deprive myself of loaRAB major food groups anyway?

Anyway, what has made quite a major impact to my skin has been the food supplement spirulina. I found out about it when trawling through some skin forum and came across someones post about spirulina and how they found it had improved their skin. So I thought I'd give it a try, and I admit I'm a convert.

I also found an article which also recommended topical application spirulina.

I found a cream called spirulin cream which contains spirulina extract and I also use that as a night cream.

I can't say which has the most benefit, the supplement or the cream, maybe it's the corabination of both together.

It really is an amazing supplement. Maybe it's what most of us in the Western world are lacking in our diet?
