it's perfectly fine to do so.. i'm planning on doing it once i save enough money.make an account on couchsurfing.org - as the name suggests, you surf on other people couches or you can also meet up with them. look around the web about how to prepare yourself and safety and you'll be good to go. good luck :)

I'm 19 and feel as though I'm independent enough to travel alone, although i would prefer to travel with friend's but no one is ready to in the few months.
I would prefer to work in the Uk or somewhere but it's not going to be worth applying for a 2 year holiday working visa when i only want to travel/work for 4 or so months, I feel as though i would be wasting my visa.
Any comments on travelling alone? I would love to meet people overseas maybe in youth hostels who would want to travel with me if that is realistic. Just wondering if the experience would be just as good travelling alone? as I am a young female and it can be quite dangerous to go solo.
Also i would love to work in a bar for a few months, but without a working visa i guess that can be a bit risky... any suggestions?
thanks guys
