My dad, brother and I are moving out to California from Georgia. I'm taking my 8 month old kitty with me in my car and my dad is taking his 7 year old golden retriever with him in his car. Will any of these states require a health certificate to permit them into the state at the border? My mom told me that we will need one when we get into California at the border. But I'm not quite sure. So do we need a health certificate for the kitty and dog?

Thanks!

I know your feeling. I travel with my dog in the car ALL the time. When I lived in Florida, I had another dog, but it died a while ago :(... anyway, when we moved to California, Me, my brother, my sister, and my mom went on the plane. My old dog, Remy couldn't go on the plane, so my dad drove him all the way across the US to get there. he didn't have that problem, so you should be fine! Hope I helped :D!

Legally, yes, you must have a health certificate for interstate travel, but honestly, I have never been asked for on in all my travels to dog shows across the US in the past twenty years.

We have traveled with pets all over the U.S. and we have never run itno this problem. Wihle it would be a good idea to take one just in case (cause you never know), I highly dubt you would need one.
