I am about to go to Vegas, and I am taking my phone DUH... So I have a few Q's
1. What company does Cricket roam with when I am in Vegas, I think Verizon. Cricket says that it wants me to *288 before I leave. I don't want to lose my EVDO prl. I know not hard but a pain in the ***.

2. Does my data work? I say NO. No money in letting people roam data on there network, unless we paid hella more for it lol

3. :clapping: I am goin to Vegas for the first time, on a Fri Sat Sun. I keep tellin my homies that I don't need need a room. I might sleep Once then i'll *** out in there room or whereever i am standing. Any insight?

Nope can't do data when roaming...you can however text message.

Is Cricket not in Vegas yet? I know they are hitting that market but it already be active?

Every time you call out you will get a little warning prompt that your using roaming minutes...it's not too bad.

In vegas, I'm not sure which company you're roaming on.. In central Utah it's sprint, and in LA it's verizon... the only time I went to vegas with cricket, my roaming didn't work right.. dunno why.

nothing but phone and text works when roaming.

As for vegas... whether or not you need a room depenRAB on circumstances... If you're just going to stop while on a road trip, and you're not driving the next leg of the trip, forget about getting a room, sleep in the car/plane... However, if you've got any amount of responsibility, book a room...

I highly recommend the Westin Casuarina.. you can book rooms on priceline for around $60/night and they're AWESOME rooms... the entire hotel is nonsmoking including the casino (either a huge positive or a dealbreaker I guess)... and I'm not exaggerating even a little bit when I say I've NEVER slept in a more comfortable bed.

If you want the westin, specify on priceline that you want a 3 star hotel and then put in your bid... I've gotten the westin every time. I think their posted room rates are like $140/night, so it's a big savings.

Edit: I forgot to mention that the westin is only 1 building off the strip, directly across from caesars palace.. so it's also in an awesome location..

Good looking man. Me and the lady goin to Vegas for the first time also next month and I was about to start looking for a hotel.

Sorry if my comment has nothing to do with the topic of the thread but I know cell phone service is going to be one of the last things on my mind while Im up there. Im going to be more concentrated on doubling my paper on the blackjack tables. Either way thanks man for the little travel info.

Thanks for the info. Cricket says on the map that they are goin there, don't know if they are up yet. I hope I get there and my phone is on Cricket network. But you get what you pay for :D

Yes to your first question. If you *228 it will load the roaming PRL and you will not have the 1050.

I have a Touch that I did a *228 to get my roaming PRL. I backed it up with PST. Then I loaded the 1050 EVDO onto NAM 1 and the Roaming PRL onto NAM 2. I set the NAMs to switch automatically. Now when I go out of town it switches by itself. You have to go in and edit your registry to see the NAM option under the phone settings.

Another trick is to have the 1050 PRL loaded on your SD card. When ever you get home just reload the 1050 PRL.
