As part of an ecology assignment I am gathering a few fish from my local lake to observe in our classroom aquarium. (We will release them back into the lake) My problem is I don't know how to get them to school. They will have to be in something over night and can be transported the next morning.
The fish are sunfish so they're not very big and I will only be taking 2 maybe three depending on size. I was going to leave them in a cooler with the lid open over night but I was recently told that they won't have enough oxygen and will die. I don't want to take wild things only to have them die. What should I keep them in over night? If I hook up a filter to the cooler will then circulate the water and provide them enough oxygen to survive over night? Please help!
