Transmission slipping in my 97 Ford Contour?

The tranny slips quite often, but it still goes into all gears. Tranny was flushed and refilled approx 2 months ago. Is it something that can be repaired or am I looking at new tranny?

If the transmission is about to go out and you don't care what you do....you just want to get a few more miles out of it....do like the old hotrodders from the 1960's did...drain out one quart of autotrans fluid and replace it with one quart of straight SAE 30 motor oil. This is not a sanctioned recommendation. This is one example of what the guys in the 1960's did in your situation.
Good Luck

If the bands on that transmission are adjustable, that should be done. This will keep the car roadworthy with any luck, for a few more years, but it is not a permanent fix. That's what they should have done when they flushed the transmission. Flushing is expensive and isn't all that much work. Some transmissions have the band adjustment inside the sump of the transmission and some have the adjustment on the outside. Flushing does nothing to help is the trasmission isn't clogged with crud. Eventually this transmission will completely fail and need rebuilding or replacement with a used good transmission.
