Okay here's the story.. I bought a 95 explorer on Craigslist. They told me the overdrive light was on and the speedometer had stopped working.. I called around and was told that it sounded like the Transmission Speed Sensor.. So I bought one, and the gear that goes on it. It worked for a few days then messed up again. So I put it back in because it had come a little loose.. Worked for a few days again then the same thing. When the O/D light is on the car shifts really rough and doesn't fully go into 5th gear. And goes through a lot of gas!! Tonight it messed up again, this time the light came on, the speedometer stopped working, but it's shifting fine!! I don't know what it could be. Also the Check Engine light has been on since I bought it. I've heard that there are a Vehicle, and a Transmission speed sensor...? Can anyone help me. I'm going to run a diagnostic on it when I have the money.. I have till June to figure it out.. Because the tags are up in June..
