transmission problems on a 93 jeep grand cherokee?

i have a 93 jeep grand cherokee and when i got the car, drive worked but reverse didn't. then the problem switched, reverse worked and drive didn't. i replaced the tranny and after 2 days drive went out but i still have reverse. it also makes this weird kinda knocking noise, sounds like its coming from the flywheel. why does this keep happening? plz help
