i have a new 2009 pontiac vibe gt (well to be honest, its my moms...im a truck guy). it has the 2.4L engine. my mother and i have both noticed a few problems but one main one. when accelerating from say a red light, you step on the gas, and there is a second or two delay before it kicks it and then it accelerates abruptly. so, i figure the gas is jjust more sensetive then the other cars ive driven, so the next time i tap the gas much lighter, but literally nothing will happen, so you step on it harder and it accelerates abruptly. theres no way to do it smoothly. i would assume this is becuase of the drive-by-wire transmission, and i know of other people who have the same problem with the car. any suggestions on what can be done to fix this or make it less noticeable? is there anyway to recalibrate the computer or ECU that controls this? i have never driven a drive-by-wire vehicle before so this is new to me! thanks for your help
i probably will soon, its the redesigned model (new for 09) so i expect a few problems, what concerns me is how i have spoke to others with the same vehicle and they experience the same thing, and others who have drive-by-wire transmission (many toyotas do), and says that just how they are.
