Well I've got a 55 gallon well established but its not big enough for the fish we've got in it so luckily we got ahold of a 100 gallon tank. I've got the 100 gallon half filled with water, salt and sand added (its a little low on salt, while the established tank is just a little high). The problem I'm experiencing is the 100 gallon requires water to be at a certain level in the tank (about 2 inches below the top) before it can circulate the water. Now the water is just sitting in there not being circulated or anything so some of the salt possibly could have settled? Also it's very cloudy in there and I assume that wont go away either since it's not being circulated/filtered...
Well how should I transfer the 55 gallon into the 100? Should I take buckets of water from the 55 and dump them in the 100 and then do I re-acclimate the fish to the new tank before putting them in? I dont want to loose any of the occupants in the tank (Humu humu trigger, yellow tang, porcupine puffer, remora, 3 different types of clown fish, couple damsels, and a few other things -- obviously some of these fish will outgrow the 100 gallon but the humu humu is a little guy right now, same with the puffer. The Remora has grown the fastest but is still "small" relatively speaking.)
Should I let the water settle more before doing this or what? I dont want the fish sitting in a half full 55 gallon tank overnight or anything as I would only guess that would end up bad...
Any advice on how to do this would be great....
