Transfer images from SD card to TX

I was out with some friends today when I was asked if I could print some images taken on a Nikon S6 camera. This camera has SD card as its storage.

I thought that all I needed to do was to put the Nikon SD card in my TX then copy the images from the card to my TX, then pass the SD card back to the Nikon user. However I could not see how to do this.

When I got home I added a *.jpg to the root of a SD card and put that in my TX. The *.jpg shows up in Filez but not in Media. So I assume that the same would happen if I put a Nikon setup SD card in my TX.

Is there a direct way to transfer *.jpg files from camera setup SD cards to TX?

Any advice appreciated

I am curious as to your problem, as I have transferred pics from a SD card to my Palm T5 on numerous occassions; so I grabbed my digital camera (a Canon SD300, which also uses an SD card) to step you through the process...

Obviously remove the SD card from the camera and insert it into the Palm SD slot. When you go to 'Media,' select the SD card icon in the upper righthand corner. The default is the Palm icon on the left in the upper righthand corner, the SD card will be the one to the right. The pics on the SD card will show up. Select the pics you want to copy, then go under 'Media' and select 'Copy to Device' (or forward slash and a 'C'). Your Palm will then have a copy of the pic, and a copy will remain on the SD card.

You can also go under 'Files' and find the file, then copy it over.

Hope that helps!

Thank you

I was expecting that my TX would work like that.

On my "test" SD card (none of my cameras use SD cards only CF so cannot try real world) the structure under Filez is:-

^External Card
*image.jpg
*BOOTEX.LOG
< DCIM
< Documents
< PALM

I put the test image in the card root because I do not know how the Nikon folder layout is.

I put the card in the TX, go to Media use the right hand Card symbol but nothing shows. If I use the left hand Device symbol images on my device show up.

"You can also go under 'Files' and find the file, then copy it over." Under 'Filez' I find and select the image then Item > Copy then a dialog screen shows "Select the destination folder. I tap Internal (the white triangle changes to black) then "OK" when I get an error message "There was an error during copy, stopping"?

Any further advice please

Look under the 'DCIM' folder, that is where my Canon saves its pictures. However, when I put an SD card in my Palm from my digital camera, I can see the pics under 'Media.'

Thank you

That was the answer. Looked at the folder structure of a Canon CF card. Images under DCIM, as are a Minolta CF card.

So copied some Canon images from a Canon CF card to DCIM on my test SD card. Put it in my TX and opened Media. Images on show and can transfer to Device.

Next time I see friend I will load her images onto my Tx then print them for her.
