Transfer case of jeep cherokee 95?

I just got an Jeep Cherokee 95 4wd.. and everthing works fine.. but I need the drive shaft and i think the transfer case is also working.. But my big question is that if the transfer case could fuck up if it doesnt have Oil.. because it has 2 wholes on it.. like if someone cut them.. idk for that thought! But wouldnt of already fucked up anyways if i dont use the 4x4? Because i use it with the rear tires and everything and no problem... But would it fucck up if i use it with the 4x4 with out oil cause it has holes...
 
Yeah running the four wheel drive without the proper lubricant wont hurt a thing.
 
Hey Kid, 4 wheel or no 4 wheel drive,a transfer case ,must have oil in it or it will self destruct,regardless of how you use it.If it has holes in the case you may as well figure on a new or used unit.
