I have been running on a treadmill to improve my run times, but it seems like my goals are impossible. I have one of those Nike+ things for my Ipod that tracks my distance and according to that I am running 14:00 miles which is totally unacceptable for my goals. That is maxing out the treadmill speed. I don't run outdoors because the only time I have to run is 4am and don't feel comfortable running at night. Is it possible that the treadmill is actually hindering my speed? I feel like it shortens my stride, but that may just be an excuse for being slow. Any information about treadmill training is appreciated.
