Traffic School Eligibility in CA?

I got a traffic ticket for CA driver violation 21806(a) (1), which is Failure to Yield to an Emergency Vehicle. I tried fighting my ticket through Trial by Written Declaration, but they found me guilty still. I do not want to go to court in person because the incident happened really far from home and I would rather not request a Trial de Novo (new trial date) and just take care of it through traffic school.

When the court mailed me their decision of finding my guilty, it said "The following decision was made: Guilty as to all counts, and Other: If you do not wish to request for a new trial date (Trial de Novo) and are eligible for traffic school, please submit the $64.00 administrative traffic school fee by 05/04/2009"

I did some of my own research, and I found out that my violation was a one-point violation. And because I haven't been to traffic school in the past 18 months, I should be eligible. But I'm still not sure if my specific violation is eligible for me to go to traffic school and have it taken care of without my having to go to court in person. This is my first ticket.

Serious answers only, please. I just want to know if my traffic violation is eligible of being taken care of through traffic school. Thanks!
