"Traditional" metal braces verses "Tooth Colored" ceramic brackets?

Are traditional braces stronger than the tooth colored ceramic braces?

Are the ceramic braces just as strong to pull teeth tightly together that have a gap between them?

Also, concerning ceramic braces, do they discolor at all?
