Me and my husband have a 98 Chrysler cirrus lxi that is not in the best of shape. It has a dent in the side door and is going to need MAJOR front body work. Further more I think it needs a new alternator. At 113000 I know it is time to trade this car in but what can we expect from the dealer as far as trade in value. Is the condition Fair or poor for a ten year old car?
it is fully loaded with leather and a six disc cd changer

It has 113,000 miles, a dent in the door and needs major front end work? I doubt anyone would take it in trade. Think about it ... trade ins are fixed up and resold. Fixing your car would cost way more than it's worth. There's no value in it.

If it was a deal breaker to take the trade off your hands, you may get as much as $100. But expect the price of the car you're buying, or the APR on it, to be higher, to offset the cost of paying out $100 for junk, then trucking it to a recycle center for a few bucks.

You're much better off selling it yourself. You could get around $300- $400 for it. It may be loaded with options but it's high miles and beat up. If you think it's worth more, ask yourself this ... would you pay $1000 for a car just like yours? How about $500? I think the answer is clear.
