Last fall I had my dealer supply and install winter tires and rims and I had to pay extra for TPMS monitors for the new tires - fine. Now that I have switched back to the stock all-season tires (did the work myself), the TPMS light stays lit on the dash.
The owner's manual tells me this is normal and the light should go off after driving for a while. Well this hasn't happened and when I called my dealer, they tell me I have to bring the car in and pay another $65 to have them "re-initialize" the system.
Is the manual correct or the dealer? Is there any way around this scam?
