My moms 1993 toyota corollas battery light was coming on. She took it to have it tested and they said the battery was fine but the alternator wasn't. She had a new alternator put on. The battery light was still coming on though. Now the car is dead and wont start or anything. What's wrong? Please help! Its our only car and we need it to get out of an abusive home.

make sure all the connection are tight. if you can move the battery terminals, even a little bit, it needs to be tightened.
make sure there's enough tension on the alternator belt, and check the thick wire on the back of it, if it moves, it needs to be tightened.

it is possible the alternator is bad, even though it's "new".
