Hello,
I have already asked this question earlier today (briefly). But now I am going to tell the long story. Thanks anyway.
Onetime I was roaming with my friend on a highway and we are driving a Toyota Yaris 2008 (Manual Transmission). My friend was driving the car at (124 Mile per Hour) speed (200 KM/H). He noticed a far police checkpoint and he was afraid to be caught. So he shifted from # 5 to # 2 to slow the car down. And actually it worked BUT I heard a very loud sound from the engine, so I asked him is it ok to do that? He said it is very normal IF you press two or three times on the clutch pad BEFORE you shift to # 2 and he did it again to show me. He went to 124 M/H and shifted to # 2 and AGAIN a very loud sound came from the engine. He did that four or five times just to assure me that it’s ok. The car is mine and nothing happened to it since that incident but now, after 1 year from that event, I am curious if it’s ok to do that or not. I am afraid to try it myself and I will not.
Now please anybody knows about this: (PRESSING TWO OR THREE TIMES ON THE CLUTCH PAD BEFORE YOU SHIFT TO # 2 FROM # 5).
I am really very curious about this so please help me and thank you very much in advance.
