Greetings all I am in need of some information. I own a 2009 Toyota Venza currently it has only 13360 miles on it. Today my check engine light came on along with the traction light strange huh. Well I immediately called the service center for an express visit. I brought the car in and explained the problem of course the service man asked if my gas cap was secure because this too will make the check engine light come on. I explained that the gas cap was secured because I was told by a coworker this could be the cause. However the man stated to me that I should wait a couple of more days because most likely the gas cap was the cause and it takes a couple of days to reset. I questioned as to why did the traction light come on as well he replied oh sometimes one sensor will trigger another. Well of course I said no and that the car is still under warranty and I want it inspected. Here is the problem I was told that the clamp which holds the exhaust manifold plate to the undercarriage cme off and the plate fell off as well and that this is something not covered by the warranty. Can someone tell me where do I stand on this matter. FYI my car has never been in any accidents or reckless situations. I am ready for battle with these guys, Toyota is the only service area the car has been with for maintenance checks etc. As always thank you in advance.
