I love my toyota tacoma 2006 but the battery died after returning from a 4 month trip due to work reason. I tried to start the engine and the truck would not start so I decided to go to PepBoys and got a new battery. Ever since I replaced the battery I began having problems with the alarm. The alarm will go on at anytime during the day and night waking up or bothering my neighbors with the loud noise. I went twice to toyota, the first time the guy told the everytime the battery is replace, the alarm also needs to be reset so he did something with the lock/unlock key of the truck and told me it was fixed..wrong!!, the next day I got a call from my neighbor telling that my truck was making a loud noise with the alarm and would not stop. I left work to go back home and again I took the car to toyota, this time i asked the guy to disable the alarm and he pressed a red button on the dashboard and he told me it got fixed. I am waiting to see if this works, has any of u had this issue before. how do u fix it?. I am planniing on selling this vehicle if toyota can't fix it...u can hear the alarm from 100 feet from any direction.
