I have a 2003 Toyota Rav4 with 45k miles. I bought it in 2006 and have only replaced the front brakes since then (about a year ago). I was told last year (a few months ago) that the brakes are fine.
BUT... here's what happened, when I am backing out of a parking space or out of my driveway and I hit the brake it makes a squeaking sound.
The thing is I ONLY hear this when I am backing up and not every time I hit the brakes while driving.
Any ideas what this could be? I keep thinking it's brakes because its the same type of sound you hear if someone stops next you at a light and you hear their brakes.
I just don't get why I am only hearing it when I back up.. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks
